We have come a long way in this time, 21 years of working together across our Law and Justice Sector agencies in an effort to create a just, safe and secure society for all. Years of working in solidarity and collaboration, there is still challenges out there which are visible every day. They are reported every day on the newspaper, social media and news websites.

About the Family and Sexual Violence Unit (FSVU) The PNG Police Department Family and Sexual Violence Unit (FSVU) investigates sexual assaults and domestic related crimes as well as monitors predatory offenders. The Department's philosophy is that every victim is worth fighting for and every abuser should be held accountable.

Reports in both the national and international media and anecdotal evidence indicate that the prevalence of crime and violence is high in Papua New Guinea (PNG). It has become an important obstacle to long-term development. At the request of the Government of PNG, the World Bank conducted a study to better understand the social and economic costs of crime and violence to households, business, government and civil society, and to inform policy directions in managing these issues
